How I became George Obama's 'brother'

A few days ago I received a call from a man I recently met named George.  ,longchamp pas cher;He was a bit flustered, and soon informed me that his young son was sick with a chest condition.  He pleaded with me to send him $1,000 to cover the medical bills.  Since George was at the hospital I asked him to let me speak to a nurse, and she confirmed that George’s son was indeed ill.  So I agreed to send George the money through Western Union.  He was profusely grateful.  But before I hung up I asked George, “Why are you coming to me?”  He said, “I have no one else to ask.”  Then he said something that astounded me, “Dinesh, you are like a brother to me.”

Actually, George has a real life brother who just happens to be the president of the United States.  (George Obama is the youngest of eight children sired by Barack Obama Sr.)  George’s brother is a multimillionaire and the most powerful man in the world.  Moreover, George’s brother has framed his re-election campaign around the “fair share” theme that we owe obligations to those who are less fortunate.

One of Obama’s favorite phrases comes right out of the Bible: “We are our brother’s keeper, longchamp.”  Yet he has not contributed a penny to help his own brother. And evidently George does not believe, even in times of emergency, that he can turn to his brother in the White House for help.

So much for spreading the wealth around.

Obama’s refusal to help George is especially surprising because George doesn’t just live in American-style poverty but rather in Third World poverty.  He lives in a shanty in the Huruma slum in Nairobi.  He gets by on a few dollars a month.  Obama also has an aunt named Hawa Auma, abercrombie pas cher Music Blog & News Posts Ente, his father’s sister, ralph lauren pas cher, polo femme, who ekes out a living selling coal on the streets of a small village in Kenya.  She says she would like to have her teeth fixed, but she cannot afford it,sac longchamp pliage.  Obama hasn’t offered to help her either.

What’s going on here?  ,Megyn Kelly sits down with Paul Ryans brother; Why is President Obama so hesitant to help family members in need?

A couple of years ago, ralph lauren pas cher, George teamed up with a British journalist Damien Lewis and the two of them published George’s story in a book called "Homeland." Yet according to Lewis, shortly before the book’s publication in America, the publisher Simon & Schuster decided to shred the entire print run, more than 20,polo femme,000 copies.  ,longchamps sac;Lewis tried unsuccessfully to get an explanation from Simon & Schuster but to no avail.  He now suspects that the White House convinced Simon & Schuster that George’s story might prove embarrassing to the president.

In 2010, George also applied for a visa to come to the United States and was refused.   While George confesses that in his younger years he was a delinquent, he has never been convicted of any crime.  Moreover, he has a very good reason to visit the United States: his mother Jael Otieno lives in Atlanta.  So why would the U. S. embassy in Nairobi refuse a tourist visa to the brother of the president who just wants to spend time with his mother?

In the past few days, polo lacoste, an article has been circulating on the web that depicts George as a social undesirable.  First published in the London Daily Mail, abercrombie france Thieves Follow FedEx, Snatch Pa, the article portrays George as a habitual drunk and philanderer.  I spent a day with George this past February while interviewing him for my documentary film 2016: Obama’s America,Panetta says protests in Middle East will continue.  I can attest that George is not an innocent.  If he had been, polo homme, he would not have survived life in the Huruma slum.  Yes, George is street smart and cunning and I did smell alcohol on his breath.

But so what?  George may be a drinker and a skirt-chaser but, as becomes clear from his book, he is also a survivor.  He has overcome his past as a gang-member and petty thief and now works as the organizer of a slum soccer league.  He is trying to uplift himself, and he is trying to help slum kids aspire to a better life.   ,Surveillance video released in LiLos NYC hit-and-r;On balance, Lewis assures me, “George is not a bad guy.  He is on the side of the angels.”

But even if Lewis is wrong, and George exhibits some harmful cultural pathologies, abercrombie france Mercedes June Sales up 0.9 Pct,, the liberal argument―one that Obama himself makes in his book "The Audacity of Hope" ― is that the cultural pathologies of the poor are themselves the product of social disadvantage.

Barack Obama Jr. first met George in 1987, when George was five years old.  He met George again in 2006 when he visited Kenya as a U.S. Senator from Illinois; George was then in his early twenties.  Had Obama helped George along the way, perhaps this young man would not have ended up dirt-poor and living such a degraded life.

So what’s the real story here?  Where’s George Obama’s “fair share”?  George’s tragic situation exposes President Obama as a hypocrite.  Here is a man who demands that others pay higher taxes to help the poor―even poor people who are not related to them―while Obama himself refuses to help a close relative like George.

      Yet I believe there is a deeper explanation that goes beyond hypocrisy for why Obama wants nothing to do with George.   After all,ralph lauren, it would cost Obama so little to raise George out of poverty, and yet he won’t do it.  This isn’t mere negligence; it suggests an active animus.   The reason for that animus emerges in George’s book and also in my interview with George in the film 2016.  In that interview,sac longchamp pas cher, George rejects the anti-colonial philosophy that was espoused by Barack Obama Sr.   This is the “dream from my father” that President Obama celebrates in his own autobiography.   ,polo ralph lauren pas cher;

From the record of their lives and writings, it’s clear that Barack Obama Sr. and Barack Obama Jr. both share the anti-colonial view that blames Western colonial exploitation for the poverty and suffering of the Third World.  ,polo homme;Yet George doesn’t buy it.  He observes that at the time of its independence in the early 1960s “Kenya was on an economic par with Malaysia or Singapore.   Look where we are now, polo ralph lauren, and where they are.  They’re practically developed and industrialized, while Kenya is still a basket case.” George believes that poor countries should take responsibility for their own situation.  “What’s our excuse for failure?  We don’t have one.  We’ve only got ourselves to blame.”

Incredible though it seems, George Obama is, within the context of his own society, a conservative.  He doesn’t worship at the shrine of Barack Obama Sr. and he espouses an ideology diametrically opposed to that of his father and his famous brother.  George has experienced first-hand the empty rhetoric of the two Baracks, polo ralph lauren pas cher, and he rejects it based on his actual experience of Third World poverty.

      No wonder President Obama despises George,ralph lauren, doesn’t want him around, doesn’t care to hear George’s views circulated in America, and won’t lift a finger to help him even when George’s son is in the hospital,outlet gucci.  ,scarpe gucci;

So that’s why George Obama felt he had to call me.  He had no one else to call.  He reached out to me in his time of need because he felt he couldn’t call on his real life sibling living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

That’s how I got to be, if only metaphorically and for a short time, George Obama’s “brother.”

What will voters hear at the DNC

,polo femme This transcript is automatically generated

Democrats say about that about not just reporting on venerable national Press Secretary for Obama for America, longchamps sac.

The president's reelection campaign joins -- and welcome.

Good to have you here thanks for having me see you watch that report and when we were in Tampa last week basically the thrust of the Romney Ryan campaign was we deserve better.

We can do better than what we're getting right now what do you make.

Well the question is what are they offering and we certainly didn't hear much about that last week you know we didn't hear about there their budget plan, ralph lauren italia.

Which would turn Medicare into a voucher program -- be harder.

But to get -- we didn't hear about their five trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans on the backs of middle class and on the backs of seniors -- That'll be the difference in Charlotte this week, sac longchamp pas cher.

-- hear a roadmap from the president about how we restore economic security for the middle class we've made progress but there's more work to be done.

That is that big question ballot and I get a bounce out of it and no doubt you hoped to get a -- had the convention -- a huge effort.

At a big moment to kind of re launch the president let's take a look at the real -- politics numbers and see how they stack up right now it is.

It it really could not be tighter you've got 46 point 4% for President Obama in this average of all the polls out there right now.

      46 point 3%.

For governor Romney and and you know a recent piece on ABC talked about.

Powell the president may in some ways -- own worst enemy that that the when he talked about the last time around in terms of hope and change has set up.

Many of the people who were supportive of him.

Third person disillusionment as -- to disappointment so how do you talk to those people in a frank honest way and say you know.

We're not where we want to be right now that you gotta you gotta give us another chance.

Well in terms of your first question in terms of the bounce -- chairman previous said that get invisible bounce out of Tampa and they didn't there's a Gallup poll.

Out today that ranked around his speech as the worst rated speed since 1996 and I think that's because he didn't lay out his right there -- for a lot of territory to 5% out of it together really how it -- out over the next few -- I think what you hear this week is an honest conversation about where we -- in 2008 where we are today in the fact that there's more work that needs to be done we -- losing 800000 jobs a month when the president came into office we -- more than three and a half million jobs.

In the six months before he came in office manufacturing was in declined the auto industry that was on the brink americans' retirement savings were being.

Wiped out in the market and we've made a lot of progress businesses have created more than four point five million jobs.

GM was reborn into the number one auto maker in the world again manufacturing is coming back more than 500000 jobs but the question is where will we go from here.

And so the president's going to lay out how we invest in education and research and development -- build the economy from the middle class out.

But let's take a look at some of the numbers because the big question -- you've heard it talked about all over the course of the weekend.

Are you better off now than you were four years ago -- and we have some numbers that have been put together when you take a look at unemployment.

And gas prices and if we could pull those up.

You'll see this this compares -- Comparison unemployment was, polo ralph lauren pas cher.

At seven point 8% it's now eight point three.

-- come has dropped by about 4000 dollars over the course of the four years of the Obama presidency gas prices one dollar 84 to 382.

And the national debt which we're expecting to see -- sixteen trillion.

Over the over the coming days probably tomorrow.

It it's if it's a setup for a very tough argument any howdy howdy -- I reality.

I think that reflects that we've been through the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, longchamps sac.

And we've made a lot of progress but the president has plants on the table today.

That Republicans have obstructed -- got a four trillion dollar balanced.

Deficit reduction plan he's got a jobs bill that would create a million jobs right now that Republicans in congress have obstructed and governor Romney, polo ralph lauren,Giuliana Rancic on motherhood, new season of hit s.

Has oppose -- so Americans in November we'll have the opportunity.

To break the stalemate between two economic visions you agree with governor Romney that we should continue to reward the wealthiest with five trillion dollar in tax cuts and raise taxes on the middle class to pay for them that hasn't unleashed job creation in the past,Retailers readying for surge in gun sales.

Or should -- the economy from the middle class out through investments in.

Infrastructure and research and development and education and -- down the debt in a balanced way.

You know but you do have to -- wanna go back to,louis vuitton outlet.

Prior point you do have to deal with that sort of issue of disillusionment.

That huge moment for the entire country when President Obama.

Gave that speech and during his inauguration and you look at Paul -- statement at that at the RNC about you know a 23 something year old.

A young person who is you know still -- an analyst mom and dad and looking at -- Obama poster on the wall that is.

That is a real sentiment and and it and it does hit people who were in year's total sweet spot.

Four years ago that it that the people who would be most enthusiastic about the president's,polo femme.

Let's take a look at the promises that the president made on the campaign trail in 2008.

But he promised to begin to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

He's done that end but the war in Iraq and responsible way it's done that to refocus on al-Qaeda and Afghanistan, ralph lauren.

He's done that to provide affordable accessible health care it's all Americans to provide middle class families with the tax cut.

But he's done those things but we can't stop there we need to continue.

Our progress businesses have created more than four point five million jobs but how do we ensure that America, polo lacoste,Thursday, September 6.

Wins a race the top will restore economic security for the middle class that's what the president is focused on.

That's what this convention is focused on and ultimately I think that's what voters will be focus on in November.

I write it in terms of you know that this this message that we heard over the weekend just from the -- regional -- that is wanna ask you one more point about.

Whether or not you folks are more worried then.

You had been about the selection when you look at that razor tight number.

Is that true the energy do you think that that he's made a good point are you more concerned about selling your message this time around the president -- concerned about it.

Well I think this is going to be close and competitive -- it has been for the past year and a half we always anticipated that the nation says historic challenges when the president I came -- office and the question Americans are asking is how do we restore economic security for the middle class and governor around me.

Ultimately failed to answer that question.

Last week if you were -- undecided voter watching you really just sort of parade of lives throughout the week attacks ripped out of context.

Setting up congressman -- to attack 716 billion dollars of Medicare savings but that he maintained -- in his budget.

      And I think that.

This will lay out the road map that middle class families are looking for to restore economic secured.

And then thank you for coming -- we reported seeing this week have a good week here in Charlotte and all the talk India thanks for evidence look at.

Washington woman convicted in saw attack on husban

      ,polo

A Washington state woman accused of trying to decapitate her sleeping husband with an electric saw was convicted Thursday of attempted murder, polo lacoste.

Jurors needed only about three hours to reach a verdict in the trial of Renee Bishop-McKean of Everett. They also convicted the 44-year-old woman of first-degree assault for hitting the man in the head with a hatchet and mallet.

The jury was told the noise of the saw woke the victim last Oct. 14 and he fought his wife off. He was treated for cuts and scrapes, sac longchamp pas cher.

Bishop-McKean told police an attacker must have entered the home through an open window, polo ralph lauren, found the saw and attacked her husband, polo homme. Deputy Prosecutor Paul Stern noted the window was locked so it would only open a few inches, chanel. He called the woman's theory the "Tinkerbell did this" defense.

The woman, polo lacoste, polo homme, who did not testify, sac longchamp pliage, polo ralph lauren pas cher,Mitt Romney Responds to Secret Video on Neil Cavut,Nutritional Analysis,After the Show Show Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, shook her head in disagreement when the verdicts were announced, outlet gucci.

Bishop-McKean faces at least 15 years in prison at sentencing set for Oct. 4,Chris Christie, Ann Romney headline Day 2 of the R,polo ralph lauren outlet.

The couple had been living apart but jurors were told the woman invited her husband over and told him to sleep on a mattress that she had wrapped in plastic, abercrombie fitch Al and Tipper Gore Through The Y,ralph lauren pas cher, then covered with normal sheets.

Police found evidence that Bishop-McKean had purchased the saw, polo femme, hatchet and mallet shortly before the attack and stockpiled bleach and a supply of large garbage bags.

"You don't need to be concerned about the `why, ralph lauren,"' Stern said in closing arguments Thursday. "You care about the `who."'

Defense lawyer Ken Lee said prosecutors couldn't explain what happened or prove that his client was responsible. He offered three theories, polo ralph lauren, including the mysterious intruder scenario suggested by Bishop-McKean.

Lee also suggested the victim might have hurt himself and blamed his wife. The defense lawyer acknowledged that option was "right out of Alfred Hitchcock."

Finally, ralph lauren femme, ralph lauren, longchamp pas cher, Lee said the only other possibility was that Bishop-McKean was responsible for the attack but if so, the evidence suggests "a very half-hearted attempt" to kill.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports that tests on the tools showed DNA from both Bishop-McKean and her husband, sac longchamp, with trace amounts from someone else. Jurors were told the trace amount likely came from someone who handled the saw at the store before its purchase.
